I will be posting quick sketches that I do for fun here and there in between of other things. These are purely for practice and sillyness. Nothing is considered or planned.

UNRUHIGE LANDSCHAFT I & II

I-JUSI #28 (the tattoo edition)

Edition #28 featured tattoo inspired works by a range of South African artists and illustrators. I decided to make a tattoo flash of images inspired by classical tattoos which introduce a light hearted twist.

MEGA BONANZA / MAYBE YOU JUST HAVE BAD TASTE.

Mega Bonanza consists of a group creating non-academic brutal and pointless art together. The group is Werner Burger, Nina Torr, Lodewyk Barkhuizen, PJ Kotze and myself. The art is fueled by wine and pizza and is based on the process of responding to a mark made by a member and then passing on the work for the next to respond to. Each piece thus contains 5 different modes of markmaking, which are not always traceable.

I did this poster for a charity exhibition. The theme was 'Unseen Saints'.

//LOOM

I participated in a wrapper design competition for the LOOM X HONEST chocolate one year anniversary. My wrapper wasn't used, but placed second and at least won me some free chocolates.

  The brief was to create a promo image form each of the departments, including design studies, audio-visual studies, fine arts, visual communication & marketing and interactive design.
  
  The illustrations are being used for web purposes as well as general print advertising.

I can't believe I haven't gotten around to posting anything about Louis Minnaar and my exhibition that is opening at Salon 91 (Cape Town) this Wednesday eve. Finally catching up a bit, sorry about the slackness,

The exhibition is based on a story dreamt up by Louis and myself, and adapted by the fantastic Jaco van der Merwe.
